El Paso Music Scene

A Main Street Marvel

by Charles Hurley

El Paso Music Scene: Are you recording with just the two members on the first CD, or are you more of a band now?

Jethro Gaglione: I write All the music myself (Jethro Gaglione) and record everything myself. I just have a band to help me out with live shows.

El Paso Music Scene: How many local / out-of-town shows have you done?

Jethro Gaglione: We've done about 15-20 shows locally over the past couple years and about 4 out of town shows in last years summer mini tour. I'm expecting to play many more local shows as soon as all the recording for the new EP (possibly full length) is done, and the band is ready for shows which should be some time in late April.

El Paso Music Scene: How old, and what are the backgrounds of the two members on the CD?

Jethro Gaglione: I just turned 19 years old and the oldest member in my current live band line-up is 20 years old (which is Jaime, the one on the cover with me). I grew up in the Mission field in Mexico with my parents and was exposed to music at an early age through worship bands etc... I moved to El Paso when I was 14 and pretty much just started writing music and recording it with cheap computer programs in my room and I pretty much haven't stopped since then.

El Paso Music Scene: Why record in Juarez? Are you now recording there?

Jethro Gaglione: I decided to record in Juarez mainly because I'm friends with Omar (owner and engineer at NorOriental studios) and I really love his work and think he does an amazing job. I will be going back to NorOriental this spring break to record the 2nd EP or possible full-length as I mentioned earlier.
