El Paso Music Scene

The Mellotron would like to thank everyone who attended Alain Whyte's Red Lightning Show this past Sunday. Even with the small crowd, word on the street is that the El Paso show was one of the band's favorites due mostly to the warm and loud reception by the small crowd. Those who didn't attend missed out on an intimate show that included a performance of a Morrissey and Smiths songs at encore. I quote a fellow myspacer who says "We were all standing in Morrissey's Shadow". It was certainly the best show of 2005 for me.

As some of you may know, thanks to myspace.com and the Internet in general, that Mr. Mike Chafino is no longer a part of, representing or associated with The Mellotron as a band. He was retired from the Mellotron on Sunday evening. The split was somewhat amicable, considering the advserity we had to face. In essence his departure is best for all parties involved. At this point, we have severed all ties with Mr. Chafino and any contact with The Mellotron should be done strictly at www.myspace.com/themellotron.

On that note, we'd like to announce the addition of Mr. Chris S. Thompson to The Mellotron fold. This lad is an amazing musician who has already contributed a great deal to the band since his hiring Monday morning. He will make is Mellotron debut this Saturday at the HORR for the ChickRockFest.

With that in mind, The Mellotron will like to say that we are fully prepared to continue and fulfill our show commitments for the remainder of the year and well into 2006.

We'd like to thank the slew of people who have shown support in these past few trying days…namely: Norman Matthew (Lylah), Dev (Gypsy Rose), Girl in a Coma, Carmen (Elysium), Archer Avenue...as well as many other friends and family.

A big thanks also to Charles from Elpasomusicscene.com for giving us a forum. God bless EVERYONE this holiday.

Cheers!
