The YAS-EP
The YAS-EP, or the Young Artists' Society of El Paso, is a local, non-profit group where art has no limits. Our duty is to educate those between the ages of 15-30 in all aspects of art, amongst other things.
If you are an artist or dream of being one, if you would like your work critiqued, if you would like art lessons, if you'd like to attend lectures and watch movies, and show the people of El Paso your talent, then the YAS-EP is for you.
The YAS-EP will be doing the following:
EVENTS:
*** The YAS-EP will be throwing monthly art shows, which will also include live music from YAS-EP members or special guests.
*** From time to time there will be special guest speakers.
*** The YAS-EP will be throwing parties and potlucks!
**** There is no limit as to what sort of events the YAS-EP will throw.
EDUCATIONAL:
*** The YAS-EP will be giving weekly art lessons, music lessons, writing lessons and lectures on artists, musicians and writers. YAS-EP members are welcome to take as many lessons as they'd like and to attend as many lectures as they'd like. Included in lectures will be movies and documentaries of artists, musicians and writers that will be discussed.
*** YAS-EP artists will be on hand to give direction and encouragement to budding artists. YAS-EP artists will be on hand to give lessons and critiques as well as lectures.
*** YAS-EP musicians will be on hand to give direction and encouragement to budding musicians. YAS-EP musicians will be on hand to give lessons and critiques as well as lectures.
*** YAS-EP writers will be on hand to give direction and encouragement to budding writers. YAS-EP writers will be on hand to give lessons and critiques as well as lectures.
*** The members of the YAS-EP will all be on hand to help with homework, as well.
**** There is no limit as to how many educational events or lessons will be given.
FUN:
There will be plenty of fun for a member of the YAS-EP. Not only is this a great way to get your talent seen and to learn; this will be done in a fun environment by people your own age and where one can make a new friend or friends. Also, there will be no grades or tests, and that definitely spells F-U-N in a lot of books!
The whole public, between the ages of 15 and 30 are invited to join. This is not free, there will be a monthly fee ($20), but this fee will in turn buy your art supplies, and all other supplies to be used in the YAS-EP.

Please email me when you are available to meet up, because I'd like to have a meeting ASAP, to discuss where our office will be - I will be renting out an art studio (on Paisano) at a place called The Art Junction, where it costs either $80 or $120 for one studio a month. I am 100% serious and dedicated about this, so I hope that you will be, too! I've already got some movies and lots of books (so I can do lectures), so let's get to it! Let's do something for our art community, for our beautiful Sun City (and it's surrounding cities) and for our youth!
